Case Study: Deckorators® Voyage Deck Remodel – Louisville, KY 40241
Completed between May 6 and June 3, this Deckorators® Voyage deck renovation in Louisville, KY features upgraded composite materials, a new privacy wall, and a completely rebuilt framing system for long-term durability. The project includes 20' and 16' Deckorators Dark Slate squared-edge boards for picture-frame borders and the privacy wall, complemented by 12' Vista Silverwood boards and grooved Voyage decking for the main deck surface.
A&S Construction installed new pressure-treated posts, replaced (3) 6x6 patio-cover supports with temporary shoring, and rebuilt the structure with 12" on-center joists protected by full joist tape coverage. The deck maintains its original layout with a 58” wide staircase and features hidden fasteners for a clean, modern finish.
Additional upgrades include:
- Trex Signature™ aluminum railing with round black balusters
- Deckorators 12" black fascia on rim joists and stringers
- Deckorators 8" black fascia risers on stairs
- Horizontal fascia installation in place of the former lattice/wagon-wheel area
- Black post sleeves for all exposed posts
- A custom
19' x 6' Deckorators privacy wall built on the right side of the deck, visible only from the deck side per customer preference
