Trex Decking Colors: How to Choose the Right One

Trex offers more than two dozen decking colors across its collections, from warm browns to cool greys. Picking the right one comes down to your home's exterior, how much sun your deck gets, and the style you're going for.

Tips for Choosing a Color
- Match your home's undertones. Cool greys like Foggy Wharf and Island Mist pair well with white, grey, and blue siding. Warm browns like Spiced Rum and Toasted Sand complement brick, tan, and earth-tone exteriors.
- Consider sun exposure. Darker boards absorb more heat. For full-sun decks, lighter colors or Trex Transcend Lineage, which features heat-mitigating technology, stay more comfortable underfoot.
- Use a picture frame. A contrasting border color adds a custom look. On one Louisville project, we paired Foggy Wharf decking with a Clam Shell border, fascia, and risers.
- Think about railing. Black railing adds modern contrast, while white railing creates a crisp, classic look.
- See it in person. Always view samples outdoors, next to your siding, at different times of day.
