Case Study: Trex Enhance® Naturals Deck + Under-Deck Living Upgrade – Georgetown, IN 47122

Completed between August 28 and October 14, this 241 sq ft Trex Enhance® Naturals deck project in Georgetown, IN includes a full deck rebuild, a Trex RainEscape® waterproofing system, and a screened-in under-deck living space. A&S Construction removed the existing deck, pulled all required permits, and installed new pressure-treated framing, posts, and 12" O.C. joists, fully protected with joist tape for long-term durability.
The deck surface features Trex Enhance Naturals Rocky Harbor with a square-edge picture frame border, grooved-edge decking with Trex hidden fasteners, and matching Trex Rocky Harbor 12" fascia and 8" stair risers for a finished look. The railing system includes Trex Enhance composite railing with black round aluminum balusters and black 4x4 post sleeves, caps, and skirts. All exposed posts were wrapped in black aluminum trim coil for a clean, modern aesthetic.
A major upgrade to this project includes a full Trex RainEscape® system installed over 189 sq ft of framing, complete with downspouts, troughs, flashing, tape, and a gutter system to channel water away—creating a dry, usable living space below. A&S then installed white vinyl soffit over the RainEscape system and fully screened in 223 sq ft under the deck, complete with a standard access door for a protected outdoor retreat.
This project blends premium Trex materials with structural strength, improved drainage, and functional lower-level living—ideal for all-season enjoyment in Southern Indiana.
